Hi, everyone. I'm sorry I haven't replied to any messages or comments. I kind of just got back to Japan. I missed the tsunami by a day (got on the plane on March 10th). After that it's hard to come back as I tried to reroute to Fukuouka or Kansai. Not much luck though. *cough*

And I have been down with flu for weeks (I think I got it from a co-researcher at my research center).

Anyway. The new school term, or rather, the school year has started. I'm sorry I didn't post the translation for chapter 172  m(-_-;)m  I don't know when I will post it but, I'll find the time. For now (it's kind of weird saying for now seeing as I jumped from ch171 to ch173 :p), here is the translation for ch 173.

I've been filling my time lying on the bed reading English novels.. so I'll have to ask you to forgive me if you find my English.. err.. kind of old *cough*

Skip Beat 173~translation


The next chapter will be out on #10 release of Hana to yume, April 20.

 I'm at Korea right now. If there is anyone waiting for my translation for Skip Beat, I hope you will wait for my return to Japan tomorrow. I looked for Hana to Yume #7 at the airport on the 4th but.. well, I couldn't find any T-T

I arrived at Myeogdong at around 6 pm after going around Seoul city. I was like, omg, there are so many people!! My friends and I were very relieved seeing that our hotel was really in the middle of Myeongdong as well, we can't speak Korean at all. I just know how to say thank you and hello XD

Today we went on a tour to the 2 world heritage buildings: Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. Our guide is Korean, but the tour was in Japanese XD There were only 3 of us but other 2 Japanese joined us during the tour. They said they were aiming for another Japanese tour but they missed the time XD

I'll post the pictures later but for now, we are going to play UNO in our hotel room XD. OK. Bye.

 Just in case some of you might have missed the changes I made to the translation :) I realized some of the mistakes I made when I reread the magazine :p

So I'll list what I had edited basically (can't remember everything I changed though :p)



1. #PG03  

    The part about the last lock. It was opened by Ren in the end of last chapter and I think you guys still remember that scene. It gave away after making so much effort appreciated highly by Kyouko, no doubt *grins*

2. #PG08

   Yes, I'm sure it's love what sensei meant by "Unyanyara". I translated it to mushy because I wanted a slang word as "Unyanyara" is not exactly a word. Sensei just wanted to describe how Kyouko was feeling about her emotion, and love in itself. Or at least these are what the guys at 2ch. and other Japanese blogs are saying. And guys, again for my mistake, I read the word wrong.  For the part "She says she is just starting to". I don't know how I can read these 2 japanese characters 「まだ」(mada)　as 「まで」(made): hence me getting so confused about what Sensei really wanted to say... XD

**(Like maybe I'm starting to fall in love with him or something like that) is basically what she meant.  Though I think as she even realized that it was just she saying that she isn't in love yet, she's just really in denial mode. 
OK. Enough of that. On to the next one.

3. #PG16

   The part about Yashiro telling Ren about Nijikai (the 2nd party)←I say it the second party because they are completely different. Parties usually have a second following after that, but it's not like a second part of it planned earlier or something usually. Nijikai is where the people who join it just basically talk a lot and drink a lot and also maybe play a lot. And sometimes there are Sanjikai (the 3rd party). That might depend on stamina of the partygoers though :p

Yashiro was telling Ren that all the people going to the 2nd party will largely sit in front of TV, watch the last episode together, all the while talking and joking and commenting and whatsoever about it :p Makes me think that that the first party is so short! I forgot if it's February right now in SB, but if it's so, then the party might not be so short. I'm living in the western part of Japan, and dusk is around 5.30 pm. At Tokyo it's much earlier, so I guess it's good? 

I think that pretty much covers it :p Well, I can only remember these actually.. That's it. 

Anyway, everybody at 2ch. was saying "Kijima, nice one!" for becoming Kyouko's fairy godmother. One also predicts that Kijima is going to say "I gave you that dress so it should be me who undress it from you!" or something along that line Oo ... Scary, scary.

I made a big mistake!! ;_; Nakamura sensei was a man the last time I wrote this. I accidentally wrote her name to be Yoshihiko when it was actually Yoshiki :p
I changed "him" back to "her" :D *grins*

Please see #PG08. Here Sensei gave a new name to the word "LOVE" :) Or at least, she made it out to be invented by Kyouko. I made a mistake for translating it into English. So I changed it back. O.o Should I start saying not "Love" but "Unyanyara" then? :D

Oh, I just love Sensei's naming sense. "Vain Day" aka. "V-Day" for Valentine's day to express Kyouko's contempt on love. And now it's "Unyanyara" for the emotion itself because she doesn't want to admit that it is LOVE she is feeling~~~

At first I translated 「頑張った一個」in #PG03 to "the one lock doing its best", but come to think of it, the lock was already opened in chapter 170, and plus that line is in past tense. So I changed it to "The one lock that did its best". I suppose that picture of the box with that one last lock still hanging there was the one before Ren opened it at the end of last chapter. Hence for the reason why Kyouko said she was able to put the locks back on as the lid was still closed. Sorry for making misleading translation >_<;

I hope everyone will take note of the changes I made. よろしく~  m(-_-)m

Oh yeah, another little mistake. Again in #PG08 where Kyouko doesn't want to admit her love for Ren. Changed the part about her naming the word love with another name. Not that she doesn't call in another name, I just changed the translation for the line after that. :p I guess seeing it will be a faster way to understand what I want to say. And I'm also going to edit my chapter 170's translation.　

ホンット申し訳ありません！！まさか自分が読み間違えてたなんてぜんっぜん思ってませんでした！！　
「まだ」と「まで」は全く違うのにね。　
自分でも自分がこんなに注意が足らなかったなんて知りませんでした；＿；

By the way, in case people are wondering, bingo game is sort of a must in a party in Japan. Something like a lucky draw. And the larger the scale the party is, the better the prize. It's not impossible to win a world tour invitation in such parties. Well, just to make it more exciting you see? Usually they have it after the party started for some hours, and then the MC will announce that now they'll be playing Bingo. Of course, the presents are all prepared by the organizer (which in this case will be.. the sponsor? LME is also one of the sponsors right?). Which explains why they were choosing what presents to give to each winner (I'm sure they did something to make sure everyone will win). I think Ren helped Matsushima to pick up prizes and he suggested overseas trip, which I think make them decide on the spot one fitting for Ren. Well, there's this senpai-kouhai thing in Japan anyway, something like you have to take care not to be more outstanding than your superiors or senpais or such (not everyone does this anyway).

And I'm sure the Egypt trip Lory was planning to give to as a prize to Kyouko is not date-specified. Though it might have due date: where you can go on a trip in that period. Well, that's usually how it's done anyway. People have their own jobs and plans, so it's not like you can just drop everything off and go on a trip somewhere. :p

That said, I can't wait for chapter 171~~~

I just reread the chapter and realized that it was actually the DM's people who prepare the prizes ><; Sorry for my mistake. The prize Kyouko is going to bring will be a qsq game machine (as I can't say for sure it's a PSP console even though I sure think that's what Sensei meant) and Ren's is an overseas trip (invitation?). Noticed my mistake when I was lurking around 2ch. ... The guys there have really been a help. I edited it. :)

It's #PG04 by the way. XD Sorry I didn't notice it earlier.
